Dr John Newton
Dr John Newton (Emeritus Fellow) has died at the age of 89. He first joined ÎÛÎÛÂþ» in 1961, becoming a Fellow in English nine years later. A contributor to ÎÛÎÛÂþ» Through the Twentieth Century wrote, ‘For me, the mood of ÎÛÎÛÂþ» in the late 70s is forever captured in the form of John Newton, English Fellow, soulfully reciting Lapis Lazuli by moonlight beneath the weeping fig-tree’.
